COMEDIAN

Niek Theelen, was born with Cerebral Palsy  a physical disability however, he has never let this keep me from accomplishing his goals.  It was during university that he first tried and discovered his passion for standup since then I have performed on stages across Western Canada. In the process, he has opened for Canadian comedy legends Mike Macdonald, Derek Seguin, and Brent Butt from CBC's Corner Gas as well as Ryan Neimiller from America's Got Talent (AGT) and AGT Champions. Niek took part in CBC's NextUp Comedy contest where I was one of 5 Alberta comics to participate in the competition and Co-Winner of the 2019 FunnyFest Talent Search, in Calgary, AB. Niek is a two-time semi-finalist in Edmonton, AB's Funniest Comic With A Day Job he has been a featured act at the Medicine Hat Comedy Festival.

In 2021 I shot a feature documentary film during the pandemic with a small group of local filmmakers Called "Love of the Game"

Love  of the Game is a documentary about adaptive sports for people with disabilities in Alberta Whether people play competitively or just for fun, they all come together with the same united passion and love of the game.
