COMEDIAN
The Niek Theelen is a stand-up comedian from Red Deer, Alberta. He lives with Cerebral Palsy; a physical disability affecting his mobility and coordination. In 2015, while pursuing a fine arts degree in university, he discovered a passion for stand-up comedy. Motivated by laughter, he has found a way to turn his struggles into triumphs. He has entertained audiences in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and even The Netherlands where he was born. Nearly 10 years later, he prepares to record his first stand-up special and bring his unique blend of comedy to topics such as work, sports, food, travel and yes even llamas.

Niek Theelen, was born with Cerebral Palsy but, a physical disability but. he has never let this keep me from accomplishing his goals. It was during university that he first tried and discovered his passion for standup since then I have performed on stages across Western Canada. In the process, he has opened for Canadian comedy legends Mike Macdonald, Derek Seguin, and Brent Butt from CBC's Corner Gas as well as Ryan Neimiller from America's Got Talent (AGT) and AGT Champions. Niek took part in CBC's NextUp Comedy contest where I was one of 5 Alberta comics to participate in the competition and Co-Winner of the 2019 FunnyFest Talent Search, in Calgary, AB. Niek is a two-time semi-finalist in Edmonton, AB's Funniest Comic With A Day Job he has been a featured act at the Medicine Hat Comedy Festival.
